Savannah Wildcats Crowned Champions

At 11-5, the Wilmington Sea Dawgs and the 10-5 Savannah Wildcats know a little bit about winning. With the Continental Basketball League Championship on the line, fans were expecting a close game.

And so it was....

In front of a large, enthusiastic crowd, the Wilmington Sea Dawgs fell to the Savannah Wildcats in overtime by a score of 96 -86. The Sea Dawgs came back from a 11-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter to send the game into overtime. But the Wildcats fast paced offense was just a little too much down the stretch.

The Wildcats clinched the lead early in the game, ending halftime, 42- 39. The Wildcats backcourt did a phenomenal job offensively with guard Joseph Flegler leading the way, racking up 33 points and 3 rebounds. In addition the Wildcats big men were an integral element in this victory.

Wildcats forward Brian Moultrie dominated the game offensively as well as defensively, finishing off with 21 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 4 steals. Franchot Brown delivered 11 points along with 3 rebounds while Damien Perkins contributed 8 points and 12 rebounds.

High scorers for the Dawgs included Jermaine Williams (26), Aaron Scott (21) and Aaron Coombs (17).
